    Before you ship to Slovenia.

    No VAT threshold

Every EU parcel from the UK pays VAT at the destination's rate, from 17% to 27% across the EU. For Slovenia that's Slovenian VAT at 22%.

    IOSS, filed for you

Up to €150, use your own IOSS number, or Teleship files IOSS for you for £1 a parcel. Above €150, Teleship is the importer of record for £4 a parcel.

    Charge VAT on shipping too

Shipping is part of the EU VAT base. Make sure your store charges tax on shipping, or you collect less VAT than is paid.

    Group items by HS code

Over-detailed classification costs money under the €3 rule: three items sharing one 6-digit HS code pay €3, three with three different codes pay €9.

    Product identifiers on every line

EU declarations need product identifiers on every item line since 1 November 2026. Teleship adds them to every label. EU product identifiers.

    Returns

Return costs and EU return labels are explained in the help centre. The €3 duty isn't refunded on returns. Returns.

Three questions merchants ask about Slovenia.

Do my Slovenian customers pay anything when the parcel arrives?
No. The EU duty, the customs fee and Slovenian VAT at 22% are paid at checkout and the parcel travels settled.
Do I need an EU or Slovenian VAT number?
No. Up to €150 Teleship files IOSS for your orders every month; above €150 Teleship is the importer of record. Nothing to register.
What does the new EU duty mean for my orders?
Since 1 July 2026 low-value parcels pay €3 per product type (6-digit HS code) in the parcel, on orders up to €150. From 1 November 2026 there is also a €2 customs handling fee per declaration line, at any order value. Both are in the price your customer pays at checkout.
