Shopify DDP shipping
Duties in your checkout. Not on your customer's doorstep.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means the import duty and VAT or GST are paid before the parcel lands. With Teleship they are calculated in your Shopify checkout, collected with the order and paid with the label, so the carrier never asks your customer for money at the door.

No registrations for you
Teleship files IOSS for EU orders up to €150 and acts as Merchant of Record above. No EU VAT number or US importer account needed.

Install the app
Install Teleship from the Shopify App Store and create your account. Have your EORI number to hand.

Complete six settings
Shipper details, compliance, dispatch time, packaging, billing and checkout rates.

Add Teleship to your shipping zones
Live rates use Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping (Grow on annual billing, Advanced or Plus). On Basic, use a flat rate and Shopify's duties tool.

Buy duty-paid labels
International orders appear in the app. Buy the label, then drop the parcel at a Post Office or book a Royal Mail collection.

Business days from hand-over to Royal Mail or DHL. Allow longer from mid-November to early January. At checkout, Teleship DDP Tracked appears as "Teleship Standard Tracked (Duties prepaid)".

What changes in your Shopify store.
Turn off Shopify's own duty collection
If your Teleship rate includes duties and taxes (the default), keep Shopify's duties collection off for those markets, so nothing is collected twice.
Charge tax on shipping
Shipping is part of the VAT base in the EU. Turn on "Charge tax on shipping rates" in Shopify so the VAT you collect matches the VAT that is paid.
Product data does the work
Duties come from each product's HS code and country of origin. The app sets them in bulk. Product data guide.
